A VISION BROUGHT TO LIFE BY MARCOS RIVERA

A proud Puerto Rican native and seasoned entrepreneur, Marcos Rivera is well-known across the island, particularly in Puerto Rico’s vibrant boating community. His entrepreneurial journey spans decades, and he has achieved achievements in hospitality, branding, events, and humanitarian work.
Marcos played a key role in the early branding and launch of Medalla Beer, helping establish its presence in Puerto Rico at a time when major brands like Coors Light and Budweiser dominated the market. His vision and drive also helped popularize Tito’s Vodka, now one of the island’s favorite spirits.
Another standout accomplishment is the creation and growth of Christmas in July, one of the largest nautical festivals in the Caribbean. With Gabriel Coll and Wally Castro, Marcos helped take the event from a small boat gathering to an iconic celebration that draws boaters from across the region each year.

Marcos is also a licensed boat captain who has spent much of his life exploring the Spanish, U.S., and British Virgin Islands. His deep connection to the ocean and the boating community has shaped his personal and professional life.
Following Hurricane Irma’s devastation in 2017,
Marcos played an integral role in coordinating
relief efforts for the British Virgin Islands, helping
organize aid shipments and logistical support
during one of the most catastrophic hurricanes in
Caribbean history.
Through this humanitarian effort,
he formed strong and lasting
friendships with key business
leaders across the BVI, including
Sir Richard Branson, founder of
the Virgin Group, who praised
Marcos’s commitment and
support during the crisis.

La Casita de Marquitos was born out of Marcos’s desire to give back to the community and create a place
where people could come together to enjoy life, good food, and unforgettable experiences. With its scenic
hilltop views, rustic-modern charm, smoked BBQ, live music, and guided UTV tours, it has become a
must-visit destination in Fajardo.

Today, Marcos is not only a respected businessman — he’s also a proud father and grandfather. His passion for
people, island culture, and community spirit lives on through every detail of La Casita de Marquitos.
